I-CHING HISTORY
>> The Westerners discover the IChing "

That is the German translation by Richard Wilhelm – a Protestant missionary and friend of Jung – published in Vienna in 1924 that will actually achieve to introduce the I Ching to the Western public. Faced with the decay of the Chinese empire, and fearing the dying of the I Ching, Wilhelm’s Chinese guide, Lao Naï Souan, initiated him with the secret teaching of the Book of Changes and entrusted him with the mission of transmitting it to the Westerners so that it can reappear and radiate on a new ground.
Once the teaching was completed and the work achieved, Wilhelm was called back in Germany whereas his Master Lao Naï Souan left this world.
